Nippies: dare to go bare

It's a jungle out there. Gone are the days of the simple standard strap cotton bra. Now there are sport bras, push-up bras, padded bras with inflatable cups, water padded bras, convertible bras, strapless bras, halter top bras, and seamless bras to name a few. It can get damn complicated out there for a woman thanks to the wide variety of tops out there tempting and disturbing us with their skinny straps, non-existent backs, and plunging necklines. Whatever happened to simple underthings?

Well, I've found a solution that could help. Bristols 6 makes a product called Nippies that seeks to make complicated coverage a little more simple. Nippies are, for lack of a better word, pasties that stick onto your breasts for when you're wearing something that a basic bra just isn't up for; i.e. tube tops, halter tops/dresses, tanks with super skinny straps, etc. Many of the Nippies come in bright colours and feature decorative sparkles, satin, and lace. When I first think of pasties, I think of Lil Kim and her infamous use of pasties, but certainly I don't think the normal woman would use them in that fashion (or wear them with a simple strand of pearls and a hat like the model in the picture above!). Rather, Nippies provide discreet coverage, but are still fun and pretty, like a fancy bra.

To experiment with these Nippies, I tried out their silicon version. The silicon Nippies are great when wearing silky sheer tops or low necklines, but I tried wearing them with a tube top. These Nippies, unlike the more flashy regular ones, which may only be worn a couple times, are reusable up to 50 times and may be worn alone, or underneath a bra. When I first took them out of their box, they were kind of, well, odd looking because they were the same color as my skin and were slightly squishy - perhaps this is what an implant would feel like if it were deflated?? The great thing about Nippies is they were super simple to apply, just like putting on a sticker! I wore them around all day and while at first I felt exposed, I soon forgot all about them. Unlike other pasties I'd tried before, I never felt like I had to readjust or check whether they were still sticking to my skin; those suckers went on and stayed on!

The only downside of using Nippies, is that you don't get the support you would from a bra, so if you are well endowed in the chest region, I wouldn't recommend these for you, or if you are a smaller girl who likes a little lift to emphasize what modest curves she has. However, for the occasional night out when you need just that little bit of coverage and your regular arsenal of bras won't do, Nippies is a great alternative.

*Note: I'd like to mention that I was approached by Bristols 6 to write a post about their products and that they sent me the sample Nippies that I reviewed. I say this so that you readers know that I'm being honest here and that my opinions in this post are my own, not bought. It just so happens that I was quite happy with their product!
