Product Review: Freeman Replenishing Body Lotion

I like to consider myself a drugstore beauty product connoisseur. Not having the means to splurge regularly on high, or even medium-high-end beauty products, I have to get my fix with whatever the local Walmart, or London Drugs contains. Heck, even Shoppers was pricey for me in my poorer days! However what I've learned thanks to my lean wallet, is that drugstore brands can give you just as good results as boutiques, with a little help from your genetics. Now, I say this not to brag, but simply as evidence, that often I have been complimented for how smooth and/or soft my skin is and rarely do I try to spend more than $15 on a lotion. To accomplish this I like to experiment with different brands and find what works, and I carefully evaluate my cost to volume ratios. A good body lotion is applied liberally everyday and thus size is important; also effectiveness, absorption time, fragrance, price, and packaging are important. Freeman's Replenishing Body Lotion with shea butter and lemongrass fits, and fails, on many of these factors.

This "natural" body lotion contains moisturizing shea butter, safflower and soybean oils, mineral oils, and lemongrass, to combat dry, rough skin. At $3.99 for a 400 mL bottle, it is great value for your money - in fact, a single bottle lasted me for months! The lotion spreads smoothly with a nice balance of thickness to spreadability, and absorbed quickly. After a short time, my skin literally felt silky smooth! Plus, my favourite thing about this moisturizer is how it comes in an upside-down squeeze bottle ensuring you'll never have to drain the last bits out like those stupid pump dispensers that are so popular. Bring on more squeeze bottles please I say!!!

The major downside with this lotion is that if you have sensitive skin, watch out: this lotion was too fragrant for the delicate skin on my chest, causing it to turn red and bumpy! Having never had any previous reactions to lotions at all, I see this is as a major con to Freemans.

Final Verdict: cheap, super-effective, body moisturizer that left me with skin like a baby's. However it's overly fruity scent also left parts of me feeling red and bumpy, like a baby with diaper rash. Use with caution.

Sorry to hear their lotion is crappy, but they make an awesome peel-off cucumber mask.

Um I think you misread! I actually recommend the lotion, if offhandedly.

The warm feeling I get when someone is thoughtful enough to say thank you for having been helped far outweighs the empty one I get when there's no feedback at all.
