Plenty of great buys!

This long weekend was filled with turkey, parties, and shopping!! Having recently come off my 2 month shopping ban, I was eager to hit up the shops. However, I still was holding onto my shopping criteria of requiring all possible buys to be on sale and to be wearable in at least 5 outfits. The recent announcement of Plenty's first warehouse sale was the perfect opportunity to pick up some great deals and items for summer so last Friday I hustled down to the Chinatown location of the sale with two friends. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a lineup snaking around the corner, but as everyone knows, good things come to those who wait.

To my surprise, the crowd was fairly well dressed, with many sporting designer glasses, chic flats, skirts, and one girl even wearing shorts! As for myself, I sported layers for the changing moods of the weather that day, slip-on shoes, and a nice bra with tights since I suspected that there might not be a changing room available:

Shirt: old Navy,
Scarf: Gap
Cordoroy mini: The Barn
Pink tights: Urban Outfitters
Wedges: Aldo

After forty-five minutes of chatting, waiting, and checking out the clothes of the crowd, we finally squeezed our way in. Inside, the former Bank of Montreal building was filled with racks of clothes, shelves of shoes, and the excited, muted buzz of focused shoppers. I was in heaven. There are few things in life more thrilling than the anticipation of diving for good deals and hunting for those hidden treasures before someone else can snatch them up. Though Plenty is recognizable for their chic, funky pieces, most of the items on sale were basics. If you were a man, your patient waiting only resulted in a single rack of clothes, and one rack of puffy winter vests. However it was definitely a HUGE sale and there were still lots to pick up, so I really hope this event will repeat next year!

Here's a look at my finds:

Cute reusable nylon tote to carry our purchases in! One nice feature is that it zips up.

Great jersey cowl-neck dress, originally $200 that I bought for... $10!!! This dress is rather sheer, but I love the clean straight lines and it looks great with a belt, as shown. I just took it over to my Mom and she cut a slit straight up the side so that I can layer it as a shift over leggings!

Second up was this super soft cream sheer cowl-neck long tee. Layered underneath with a white tank, it's a great piece for everyday.

Finally for summer, I bought this tunic top in both baby blue and black. The embroidery at the hem and neckline gives a great bohemian vibe, but I imagine this top could be toughened up with chunky booties and a tight black mini.

If you're in Vancouver and you attended this sale, then share your finds and experience!

I particularly like the long white dress. It looks great! And at $190 off, how can you argue with that?!
Too bad we couldn't go this weekend too.

Congrats on some great purchases! I like how they're all bargains but remain timeless (a lot of sample sale items tend to be too trendy). I do find such sales a hit or miss so I'm glad you managed to find such fantastic goodies! :)
