Product Review: Bio-Oil

Available at Shoppers Drug Mart

Unless you live in a bubble, accidents and ageing are bound to happen. Yes ladies and gentlemen, it's sad, but true. However, don't go down without a fight! You don't have to live with those "fat years" stretch marks, uneven skin tone, or winter scales if you are proactive with Bio-Oil!

Bio-Oil promises to rejuvenate skin and fade away scars with its patented super-ingredient, Purcellin Oil, which acts as an absorber, enabling your skin to better eat up the powerful mix of Vitamins A and E, lavender, rosemary, chamomile and calendula.

I used this oil on scars I got on my legs from my snowboarding boots at the beginning of the year. Following Bio-Oil's instructions of applying generously twice a day for 3 months, I noticed a great reduction in the color and appearance in my scars. The oil was a bit watery coming out of the bottle, but a little goes a long way, so this product will last you through tons of scars, although perhaps not the ones old flames leave behind.

Final Verdict: great value for your money. An effective treatment for scars.

Does it really work that well? I've had a blemish that I haven't got rid of since December. I might go try it out.

It worked pretty well for me, but I think you need to rub it in pretty well.

I've seen this everywhere and glad to see it works. I don't think it will on my scars though, seeing they are crazy deep and oh, 27 years old! But still...you think it would work for acne scars? My face seems to have a dark mark when a pimple leaves though I am guessing putting oil on your face would be counterproductive....

PS Those grey shoes are totally yours - I facebooked you for more info!

For those who are curious here's a link to the MUA reviews: http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemID=50602/Bio_Oil/Innoxa/Skincare_-_Body/ It seems that there is a wide variety of reactions to this product, so I'd be happy to hear from any readers on your results!

@Wanderlusting: Eeeeee I'll check my fb now!!

I am 47. I have very dry, pale, caucasion skin. Bio-oil is my new wonder product. I have a high rosy complexion - been using bio oil on marks and scars for months - works great. Recently (one month) tried it on my face daily - I LOVE it!!!! It has evened out the rosy bits on my cheeks and I swear it has somehow made little lines around eyes less wrinklie - you know those nourished wrinkles half face-lift european women seem to have?- well I have them now! yay could not be more delighted with this product. and it is soooo cheap! gonna try it on my scalp next - kinda like a hot oil or super condition thing.
