A Week in the life of MizzJ...

Well, this high maintenance woman has been pretty busy this week! Contrary to popular conception, I don't just spend all my time sitting in front of a computer blogging away. Well, actually, that's not true. I should really get out more... but in all seriousness though, I do venture outside every so often, especially if the weather warrants it and we in Vancouver have been having some pretty awesome weather this week! Here is where I wandered this week...

Wednesday: Army & Navy shoe sale!! My FFB and BFF Solo Lisa has gushed about this legendary sale for the last couple years so my curiosity overcame me and I finally got the chance to go with her to this sale. Army & Navy is a giant multi-level emporium of, well, everything! Once a year they host a huge sale of discounted shoes from various unknown sources and believe me when I say it is CRAZY!

Check out all these shoe addicts!! People were literally digging through piles on the floor and I am unashamed to admit I was among them.

My fellow brave shoppers

This weary bargain bandit only came away with 3 pairs (the black pair were my friend's)! Sadly, many of shoes were too large for my teeny size 5 feet.

Previous Sunday: Vancouver Sun Run!! I have been training on my office team the past few months for the annual 10k Sun Run. The Sun Run is a huge race that happens every April in Vancouver, and this year was the biggest yet with I believe an estimated 58,000+ people racing through the streets of downtown Vancouver. It is a beautiful run that starts in the heart of downtown, travels through gorgeous Stanley Park, and meanders along the waterfront before ending at BC Place, which will be the home of the opening and closing ceremonies for the winter Olympics next year!! I was very surprised that I didn't have to be peeled off the pavement after the race, but 10k wasn't nearly as bad as I thought! In fact, it was an utterly exhilarating experience to run with so many people and in such a beautiful city as Vancouver - definitely doing it next year!

Team Running!! (Yes, our team name was not the most original). I also am always surprised by how short I am in photos!

Team huddle before the race

And now, victory!!!

That shoe event looks out of control. Looks like you got nice stuff though.

@Dream Sequins: really?! I usually have a hard time finding shoes that fit! I always wished I had size 7 feet b/c it seems like most shoes are made for them.

@Cas Ruffin: Hehe yes, it was a place no man should venture into!

You'd have to pay me to get my ass of this chair and run! Sadly, I need to start doing that to lose the last 10 pounds of pregnancy weight I've been trying to lose the last 2 years!
So good on you for training and actually doing the run!

Oh God - how did you have the strength to jump after the race! I literally did have to be peeled off the sidewalk lol :) but I checked my results and it turns out that I placed higher than all my friends who ran so YAY ME! Yay us actually, for actually doing it!

I hear you on the size 5 feet thing, I knew I would totally lose out if I went to the sale. I would like to go one year too but I just can't deal with crowds and catfights when I shop :) Maybe next year though? You still look like you scored some sweet shoes!

You're right with Drew, on careful inspection she does look a tad stiff but the magic for me was the reminder of my childhood memories :)
