Lust of the Week: S.W.O.R.D Volterra motorcycle jacket
After sculking around ShopBop for awhile looking for this week LOTW, I realized something: I'm really really in love with the juxtaposition of toughness and prettiness, which explains why I love the boho-rocker look so much! Fitting into this trend like well, a motorcycle glove, are motorcycle jackets and this jacket by SWORD in particular fits very well.
The key attributes to any motorcycle jacket are a tailored fit, a smooth yet loved-in look to the leather, and of course the snap-tab collar. The Volterra is both functional and fashionable with its practical zippered pockets and reinforced elbow patches, and its cropped length would look great with longer tees, and of course floral dresses. Finally, the cool sable color offers a softer look than traditional black, while still maintaining the versatility enjoyed by neutral colors. This jacket is the perfect finisher to achieving that effortless tough-girly girl look.

I'm with you on the tough-pretty juxtaposition! It keeps things from looking too precious.
I don't think Autumn will be complete until I find myself the perfect motorcycle jacket! If only I had 800$ to spare...
mizzJ, i am always one for devils advocate! and she was helping someone that's why i told her I'd wait...but she just brushed me off with the this is going to take a while...the least she could have done was say let me get someone else to assist you. i guess thats what i would have done!
I wish I could look bad ass. Like the chick from underworld. She's hot in her motorcycle jacket and leather pants!
Though that only works for ladies. Sometimes I go to bars and I see guys in those neon motorcycle jackets and I laugh. I mean, that's your "nice" jacket for going out? :S
your caption for that picture is hilarious! lol
ah...I love that jacket
Great pick! Hehe the silhouette of this jacket looks a bit like my denim jacket...motorcycle jackets are hot in leather, but their sleek lines mean that denim motorcycle-style jackets look pretty good too!
P.S. I can't stare at the picture too long...she looks possessed this one.
leather jackets rule. they are so versatile and truly 4 seasons.
love the SWORD ones but they are soo pricey.
boho rocker is defintely a favorite of mine
i also love how her hair style is so feminine and shall we say boho .

I'll admit yes: that model is a wee bit scary ;) Love the jacket though! Rock out!
I love pretty and tough together...I think my fav lookbook on shopbop was the denim one, to answer your question from the other day!
I love this look! Shopbop is doing such a great job huh?!
I hope you're doing well my darling!
I have this jacket in black and it's awesome, I wear it everywhere. The leather is really soft and the fit is great too, I think this is one of those purchases that's worth it because it lasts you for years :)
i've actually never thought about motorcycle jackets in colors other than black, but lately i've been considering it :)
Beautiful jacket! S.W.O.R.D. jackets are amazing.. I love all the colors and styles they have. And I completely agree that they're both feminine yet tough, which just makes them really versatile!
I have been searching around for a motorcycle jacket and I love this one! I think these types of jackets look great when paired with a floaty summer dress and some cute heels. You get the ultimate tough girl/sweet girl balance!
Cool jacket!
I have one from, believe it or not, AE, that is ages old but I still rock the heck outta that thing. Love your lust object!
Bomber jackets are brilliant. I have one that I got at Urban Outfitters a few years ago, and I've had more complements on it then anything else I own. It can really define an outfit.
LOL, you definitely called it on the shopbop model - though most of the time she looks less scary. SFAM also came out with a great moto jacket, love them with frilly dresses and skirts!
Omg, I'm so with you! I've been drooling over this one for a while.
