I'm going to date myself, but back in the day I was obsessed with one of the hottest advances in technology that I'd ever seen in my young eyes: a virtual pet by the name of Tamagotchi. Anyone who was anyone in my grade had one and we were all constantly checking our little pets and guiding them through their short week long life cycles. You could even hook up your Tamagotchi with your friends to produce little babies! Ah memories. Nowadays though, modern kids would laugh at our primitive virtual pets just as we laughed at our elders for playing with wooden blocks. The newest hot virtual pet on the block is surely Sony's Eyepet.
Looking something like a more PC version of a Furby, this little cute furball lives on your TV screen but you can interact with him in your 3D realm via Sony's Playstation Eye. The Playstation Eye is the new generation in gaming consoles, allowing users to interact with much like how a Wii works, with gestures and words, but entirely without any controllers. This innovative game allows you to raise your little EyePet and even teach him simple tricks. Looks like Fido has some competition!

Not sure this would be my thing, but I was almost tempted to get the robot dog as a gift to someone. I guess it's a more low-maintenance version of a real pet, for those who live in the city!
new generation of Ferbies! Hmmm I'll consider getting one when Turbo drops the bucket. He's developed a taste for rubber bands and plastic bags over the past month or so, so it shouldn't be long now hahaha

Oh my goodness I totally remember those little virtual pets. I wanted one so bad and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Isn't it almost like having those "pet rocks?" LOL. Aaah, good times, good times.
i had SO many of those little critters! LOL .. the good old days. now instead of collecting them, i shop. probably a bad swap for my wallet ;)
Ah Tamagotchis...good times, good times. And hey, don't knock the wooden blocks! Some classics never die. ;)
