Funny, I knew you once, now I know you not at all

Grey tee: Mexx
Plaid shirt: Aritzia
Denim leggings: Aldo
Leather belt: Danier
Boots: Aldo
Wooden bead bracelet: gift from Paris

In this outfit I was going for comfort as you can see. Currently comfort for me equates to plaid and I've been wearing this plaid shirt to death ever since I bought it. If only I still had my magenta and green plaid shirt from the 90s - it was super soft and despite what you may think, the color combo was absolutely perfect. Well, I hope whichever girl cousin it was passed down to is fully appreciating it - it's vintage now baby!! The belt and boots are my concessions to style with this outfit. The belt was necessary to create proportions on my body and prevent my plaid shirt from swallowing me whole. The boots were necessary for that vital bad-ass factor. The bracelet was actually given to me by an ex. He was my first love, or what was my immature and naive impression of love at the time. Him and I had a very bland relationship, except when we were in full-tilt drama of the worst kind. Looking back, I can't hate him though he hurt me and changed a part of me forever. He was an immature boy and kinda dumb, and I was probably more in love with love than with him. Now, we are basically strangers who used to know each others thoughts. It's funny how you go from being each other's best friends, to nothing.

It is crazy how you know someone so well and for so long and then one day you're strangers. I was with the ex for close to a decade and doubt that we'll talk again. And I'm diggin' the plaid on you!

Sexy pose!
And very sexy post too, perhaps because it's a little deeper than what you normally write.
Aren't first loves something to think about? Without them, we'd never be who we are today ... ...

very true about ex's. but think with mine's his true nature showed after awhile..and I didn't like what I saw.

i love comfy! and you've pulled it off so well. I am glad to hear that things between the fabulous you and bland immature ex is ...over. I know its hard to think you spend so much time with someone and end up being strangers. oh well....thats the past..and that black leather dress you wore to vegas....HOT.

I tend to agree with you...there is something about plaid that simply screams comfort. Hence the reason I am on a mission to find the perfect plaid shirt. Wish me luck! :)

I find abandoned chemistry really awkward. I ran into a guy I knew from highschool over break, and we used to be really close, and now he's a stranger...oh well. Life goes on! Might as well look good too! (And you do!)

All my exes are certified douchebags. like the one that cyber stalks me and calls me all the time still after I broke up with him a year and half ago. or the one that integrated his life into mine by befriending with all my friends and become even closer friends or having sex with my former friends like he can't get his own friends or meet new people himself. or the white guy with an identity crisis. gross, don't know what I ever saw in them.

I admire that you still make use of gifts given to you by an ex. I have several jewellry pieces by an ex (first "love", looking back now it's kind of embarassing how naive I was back then! We have absolutely nothing in common and I don't care to speak to him anymore). I haven't worn them in over 6 years; to be honest it'd feel a bit weird wearing them (one is a ring and one is a necklace, both fairly expensive) because of the sentiment that is attached to it but I think it's for that same reason why I could never get rid of or sell them (I had both items appraised once and BOY it was tempting!).

Anyway COOOL I had no idea Aldo made denim leggings! I've been looking for some "jeggings". They seem like such a more fun idea than trying to squeeze into my skinny jeans haha

It is amazing how your first love can seem like the world to you, and a few years later they are irrelevant.

Love that I am not the only one who misses her 90's green/magenta flannel. Although oddly, I did save my green mottled Doc Marten boots!

this outfit is totally all about comfort and I love it. esp the plaid! very chic and I know what you mean, when I got my vintage plaid shirt in the summer, I wore that thing to death. I've actually been meaning to buy another plaid shirt in a blue colour but of course I can't right now because of my shopping ban!
