The Product
Looking for an eye cream that is gentle, yet effective against fighting those first signs of aging? The Body Shop's Vitamin C Eye Reviver then may be just the product for you! This lightweight gel is light enough for daytime use, but is full of strong, skin protecting ingredients specially formulated for the delicate eye area.
The Guts
The main fighting agent in this eye gel is Vitamin C, which reacts to neutralize free radicals that are a major cause of fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin C also encourages the production collagen and improves elasticity. The gel also contains Vitamin E, another anti-aging ingredient; glycerin and lanolin, both powerful moisturizers; and orange flower water to refresh and hydrate the skin, particularly mature skin.
Price & Packaging
The price for a 15 mL bottle is $22, which may seem a bit steep, but as far as eye creams go it's not bad. Also, you only need to use a drop or two per application, per eye, so it also lasts a long time. The product is encased in a punchy orange bottle to emphasize the association with Vitamin C (since the fruit orange is well known to be a major source of this vitamin). A pump dispenser dispenses just the right amount of product into your waiting fingertips.
Effectiveness
I've been using this product for a few months now and I am at best feeling slightly above average enthusiasm for this product. The dispenser is effective at giving out just the right amount to cover a single eye, however as my bottle reaches empty the pump becomes less effective and what product now comes out is more watery, than gel-like. The Eye Reviver is primarily supposed to brighten the eye area and give it a refreshed, youthful look and it does fulfill this purpose. Since using this product, I have noticed that my morning circles are less noticeable and my under eye area brighter. My under eye skin feels soft and smooth, although I haven't noticed any reduction in the very fine smile lines underneath.
Buy or Ditch
Sadly, I would have to say I would ditch this product. There just wasn't enough power packed into this eye gel for use as an eye cream. To be fair to the Vitamin C Eye Reviver, perhaps it isn't meant for night-time use, but is more of a daytime moisturizer for your eyes; however using a day moisturizer for your eyes would likely leave it too slick and clump your eye makeup, so this doesn't seem a valid reason to buy this product again.
Final Verdict: B-

thats defini9tely not a bad price for an eye cream especially if its a good eye cream .. i winder how soon i should start thinking of buying antit aging and restorative products ...
ooh great review.. i think it's about time i invest in some eye cream...
I've never tried the Body Shop's eye creams...but the tea-tree oil moisturizer is amazing. I have really oily skin, it's the only thing I've found that moisturizes without making me shiny!
I use Philosophy's Eye Believe amino peptide eye and upper lip balm and I've been pretty pleased with it. The nice thing about is that it absorbs quickly and doesn't feel slick at all. I mostly put it on at night, but it could work as a daytime eye cream too.
when i ordered online from sephora, i'd get my samples of all the really e3xpensive things that i could never afford.
from lisa's review, i use the eye believe too. it's nice, but i haven't seen smashing results. i used my sephora sample of the ole henriksen eye cream, and i literally saw results overnight. it's expensive, but when you see results that drastic, how can you say no? when i actually get it, i'm going to do a full review.
LOL. So cute you gave it a grade. Too bad it's a "B-" :O(
Thanks for the info though, I will wait patiently for a product that is "A+"
i used the bodyshop vit c range before and i tot, as a smoker, i nid vit c..but sadly its proven too oily for my face! i get breakouts, even whiteheads near the eye becoz of this eye gel! >.<
but this was many years ago (like 5yrs ago) but nah, i wont go back to it too hehe
xoxo elle
I used the Body Shop Eye Reviver too...and it didn't seem to pack as big a punch as I'd like. Good eye creams seem to hard to find...without breaking the bank!
@Damsels: it's never too early I think to have a little prevention!
@Mo@Mo-logue: yes, the tea tree oil line is quite good!
@lisa: can't wait to try mine, esp around the lip area!
@Erin: I'm afraid to try something that expensive just b/c they are likely so effective I won't be able to resist!
I was just looking for an eye cream and this looks like a great product. I don't have any lines under my eye yet but they're so puffy and dark so I want to get rid of them. I'll give it a try! xoxxoxoxo
Thanks for another fab review, darling!

This is such an amazing review. I have never used any eye creams myself; though this one sounds fairly decent. :)
