via Muratori, $875Finding sustainable, ethical options for luxury goods can be difficult to say the least. Too often, the luxury makers employ questionable employment practices and manufacturing methods, but if you look hard enough you can find some designers that are striving to run a different kind of business.
I first read about Muratori off another fashion blog (sorry that I cannot remember who at the moment!) and was immediately intrigued. Muratori strives to create quality goods that are produced in an environmental and sustainable manner. A prime example of Muratori's design ethic is this delicious Twiggy bag. Made of chrome-free, vegetable tanned leather, and an organic cotton lining, this has all the luxury details you'd expect from a Gucci, or LV, without the guilty conscience. I love the simple clean stitching and the rich, soft look of the leather - plus the classic structure of a doctor shape bag will mean this bag will be a timeless piece that will last a lifetime. What other sustainable designers would you purchase from?
