JLo may have said love don't cost a thing, but give me a pair of drop-dead, ultra-coveted, sex in shoe form, pair of heels and I may have to ask JLo to reconsider her romantic mantra. Shoes make a woman feel sexy, confident, cute, powerful, pretty, and a whole crap load of other adjectives. What they never make you feel, is sad (although they can cause you pain).
Understanding this vital need, MyShoes.com seeks to make the quest for the next Loubies (or their inspired by versions) just that little bit easier. MyShoes.com is basically a search engine focused around shoes! Browse through a vast catalogue of shoe brands and retailers across the Internet by creating custom searches. There's a wide number of search options available: style, color, heel height, price, brands, and trends. Each result has images, descriptions, and links to various retailers. Best of all, MyShoes.com will also display available coupon codes to save you money! It's kinda like the new best friend you never had!

So how did MyShoes.com come into being? Well, Being High Maintenance, not Bitchy was able to snag an interview with Andrea Woroch, chief of communications for Myshoes.com to ask her some burning questions about just what it is that women see in a pair of heels:
So tell me, how was the idea for MyShoes.com born?
Searching for shoes on the Internet could be a bit overwhelming and we wanted something for ourselves that provided streamlined results echoing the style, feature, color and price range we envisioned in our minds. Our mission; to help women find the perfect pair of shoes at the best price from hundreds of styles – all according to personal style, and in a timely manner. By utilizing our company’s discount coupon site, PromotionalCodes.com, we were able to apply an innovative money-saving element with the coupon integration function. By applying available coupon codes to the final price instantly, women will know where to buy their perfect pair of shoes at the most affordable price quickly and easily.
The Internet is such a crowded place, what strategies did you utilize to get MyShoes noticed?
myShoes.com is the first and only shoe shopping engine that helps women find the perfect pair of shoes at the best price from hundreds of stores – all according to personal style, and for this reason, we have received a lot of positive attention. The unique and innovative site produces streamlined shoe results from hundreds of retailers and brands like Zappos, DSW, Nordstrom, Steve Madden, Shoes.com and many others, making it easy for women to find and compare options all in one place.
Providing such [a] high quality site has attracted many female shoppers and keeps them coming back for more!
Where would you like to take MyShoes in the next 5 years?
We want myShoes.com to be the first thought that comes to every woman’s mind whenever she thinks about shoes - - which we anticipate being a few hundred times per day (or is that just me?!)
What type of shoes would we find in your closet?
Since we are based in warm and sunny Santa Barbara, our closets are stacked [with] sandals – everything from gladiators to caged heels. Personally, I’ve lived in many weather climates so I have an endless array of styles. From New York to Colorado and now by the beach, I’ve had to switch up my footwear needs. Some of my favorites include a pair of BCBG suede ankle booties that I scored for next to nothing at DSW, knee high boots in black with a wedge heel from Nordstrom and nude peep-toe pumps from Guess.
Why do you think women love shoes so much?
Did you know that shoes once represented a woman’s status in society? High heels symbolized high class, so perhaps this is where our passion for shoes began.
Enough history though. Let’s get real; shoes make a girl’s heart pump! We can express our style and mood with every different shoe and style we wear. As soon as we slip on a hot pair of heels, we feel beautiful and strut with confidence. Most importantly though, shoes won’t make you cry, leave you waiting by the phone for hours or make you look fat!
(Wow am I hearing an echoing sentiment here? A girl after my own heart!)
Who are your favorite shoe designers?
This is a tough one…where do I begin!? It really depends on the style of shoe that I’m looking for – flat, pump, sandals, boots…I have a favorite for each of these!
- Bernardo has amazing flat sandals that are perfect for days spent shopping or meeting up with friends for lunch. For a little more height, Pour La Victoire’s sultry caged and gladiator styles will spice up spring and summer looks.
- Jessica Simpson and Steve Madden are my go-to designers for pumps. Whether a classic look or something with a little more oomph like a peep-toe, animal print or frill detail, you can be sure to find a pair that fits your style
- Nine West has a great selection of flats that are super comfy. For boots…well, I continue to lust over Frye.
What shoe wear trends do you feel are hot for 2010?
Nude shoes are spring and summer’s top trend. The barely-there color creates the impression of long, lean legs that women are going ga-ga over. Other top trends are bright suedes, peep-toe booties and men's inspired oxfords which can be worn as flats or heels for a more feminine touch. Boots layered with fur, suede and sultry details like exposed zippers, laces & studs will be all the rage this fall and winter. With the introduction of men’s inspired oxfords this spring, we anticipate the boy-meets-girl styles to influence even more fashion designers.

Thanks for sharing the site. Took me FOREVER to find the right oxford shoes...pretty much since last Nov when I saw the trend boomed in Italy. And of course Italy has way cooler and funkier shoes. I managed to buy a pair...but couldn't find the same edgy style that I saw in Italy. Totally regretted not buying more shoes when I was there.
PS. About the egg tarts...when I was a kid, I would actually mush it around in its tin cup before eating it. haha. I still love egg tarts now too :)
