The Product
When it comes to aging, an ounce of prevention is definitely worth a pound of cure. Philosophy's Hope in a Jar eye and lip firming cream contains 0.5 oz of prevention in one potent tube. This mini powerhouse is designed to combat fine lines along your eye contour and upper lip area and to erase those first wrinkles caused by things like too much smiling (something I do all the time).
The Guts
The ingredients for this product read like a chemical list, but include such decipherable ingredients such as mineral oil, glycerin, and petrolatum, all of which are moisturizers.
Price & Packaging
For $33 a tube, this product isn't much bigger than a lip gloss, however it did last me for months as you really only need a dot or two for full coverage. The squeeze tube was very effective and allows you the ability to literally squeeze every last bit of product out before tossing, making it very economical.
Effectiveness
The product glides on easily and smoothly, leaving a very velvety texture on your skin. It goes on transparent and can even be applied during the day for a subtle brightening effect. If you do wear this product during the day though, be aware the any makeup you apply on top will have a tendency to slide right off the almost wax-like surface this cream leaves behind. After a couple months of regular application, I found my dark circles to be reduced as well as the fine lines I was starting to notice.
Buy or Ditch?
I would certainly buy this product again. It was effective, easy to use, and not extraordinarily expensive. For once, no complaints!
Final Verdict: A

I tried hope in a jar years ago and it gave me a rash. That was it but I did like other products from the company.
I have Eye Believe which is pretty good for undereye dryness during the day. Lately I've been using Sugarcane Skincare's Omega 3 Eye Serum because it does a better job of reducing puffiness and dark circles on a daily basis.
i just want to say the name of your blog is awesome! and i love the black and white stripe dress you're wearing in an earlier post.
thanks for this great product review.
i follow your blog now; feel free to check out my blog and follow it too.

Philosophy does have great products. The hope in a jar cream for your face is great. I use that everyday. Tried the eye cream too. I liked it, but I've switched to the regenerist stuff by oil of olay? I forget. But it's cheaper and works great. :)
the only philosophy product i've used is "hope in a jar" and i loved it, aside from the smell. it went on smoothly and kept my skin hydrated. i've always wondered about their eye cream though so good timing on the review! good to hear it has promising results although i wear concealer everyday so don't know how well that would work if it doesn't stay on haha
I've never loved Philosophy products, but recently started using Hope In A Jar and i'm a fan. I'll have to try this out.
