You got the peep hole to my soul
I'm not sure what to write here. Originally, my post was going to be rather personal, but often I feel very afraid to be personal here. It seems people like to read my blog and that is both and bad thing. Personally, I don't mind being a bit personal. I know some bloggers basically document their lives online, but I'm a pretty private person, so exposing myself in that way isn't really desirable. However, even the times when I've briefly hinted at things in my life have resulted in people trying to read the lines. So I have to ask, where does one draw the line when it comes to sharing your personal life online?

Firstly, adorable flats. Love them.
Secondly, I agree. I think there is a very fine boundary online when blogging. It's hard to say what's right and wrong, and everyone has their personal opinions. I think I'm more on your side... keeping your private life private. That's why I'm fairly anonymous on my blog and online. Only post what you're comfortable with :)
Love your blog though!

Don't post any more than you feel comfortable with, but don't live in fear either.
If people are reading between the lines, you need to think about why they might be reading between the lines of your blog instead of communicating with you directly. Or the flip side, why are you writing about them on your blog instead of communicating directly with them?
Are the lines of communication broken for some reason?
If so, why?
Life should never be about being afraid, it's about learning, growing, conquering fear, and experiencing new things.
awesome shoes <3
@Mr. T: I think my post needs clarification. I'm not directly trying to talk about anyone on my blog, it's more people thinking I'm trying to. hehe yes, it would be quite silly to try to communicate something to someone by such indirect means. Mostly, my blog is my own personal musings, and not meant to speak anything directly to a particular person(s). I can't dare to imagine why people would read between the lines, whatever reasons they have are their own.
loving the floral and stripes!

And a nice soul it is!!! =)
It's interesting how much effort people will put into trying to assign a meaning all their own to your words. Either they want to see themselves in the mix or they want to feel like they know more than they do. Personal is nice, but not if it would make you uncomfortable or cause you trouble.
Okay, here's where I was going to pose as one of those people (cuz you're talking about me, right? ;P) in an attempt to be amusing, but I let it go.
It's a tough balance, isn't it? The feeling of writing your thoughts down and hitting that publish button can be so liberating...until you realize people you know can read it too. I'm wrestling with the same questions. Let me know when you figure out the answer. ;)
Cute flats!!! And yes I agree with you about being too personal on your blog, I think there's a line and you'll know when you cross it if you start to feel uncomfortable with what your revealing about yourself. I'm a pretty private person and I try to keep my personal life minimal on my blog...just cover the basics :)

I really think it's what you're personally comfortable. Nothing is off limits per se, but there may be things that go beyond your personal limit that you wouldn't want to discuss.
There's a lot I choose not to mention, because it's not relevant, and like you I want it to remain private :)
Fun flats, darling!

I agree with the others, the flats are great!
And as with how to draw the line...it's a tough one. There are certain things I know I won't ever blog about (work, for instance), but I think I'm going to keep my options open when it comes to other things. Then again, perhaps going all-out personal is what's going to make us millioaires, a la dooce.com (the mom blog I was telling you about when we met)...
Hrmmm ... it's hard to determine how much to spill on your blog. Sometimes I end up sounding cryptic, but in the end I feel a bit better that I was able to vent it out.
I would say publish it as a private post first, and then decide if you want to make it public?
