If you watch a film during the glamourous glory days of Hollywood, you'll see countless starlets, posing with legs primly crossed, red lipstick in place, checking their porcelain complexions in the reflection of a chic compact mirror. That vision of poise and beauty made a lifelong impression on me and a fond appreciation for pretty compact mirrors. Sadly, I have yet to own one that would qualify as anything but utilitarian, opting instead for ones that came with built-in lights useful for check-ups in darkly lit club washrooms. Now that I don't have a need for that sort of tool as much anymore, I'd much rather have something more chic and feminine to slide coyly out of my purse while out and about.
What better spot to start looking for appropriate compact options than that place of all things whimsical and vintage, Etsy? A quick search astounded me with how many compact mirror makers there are out there! Here are a couple I have my eye on, ranging from vintage chic, to cutesy fun. Help me decide readers!

I'm picturing one engraved with your initials.
Guys won't admit it, but it's nice to be with a girl who has a compact you can borrow--you never know when you're going to get something stuck in your teeth! =)
