Product Review: Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless bra
The Product
I've always had a hard time finding a good strapless that gave one support, without making one's boobs resemble Madonna's famed cone bra, or causing them to hang granny style just above one's belly button. I have no idea why strapless bras are often constructed so poorly and I don't care - I just want it to work!! Most of the time, I just go commando, since I'm not so endowed as to render a bra as a requirement, but I do so usually with a large sense of trepidation. As such, I was immediately intrigued when lingerie retailer Lingerie Please contacted me asking me to try out one of their Wonderbra strapless bras. The description for this bra states that its "hand shaped internal structure holds you up just like you would with your own hands" - talk about creepiest product description ever!! But hey, if it works, I think I can handle an unfortunate metaphor.
Price
At $53.97, this bra is a bit expensive; however if it's really the only strapless you'll ever need, it could be worth it.
Effectiveness
If the description states this bra was supposed to be like two hands holding you up, then those hands must have been made from cotton-coated steel because that is how this bra appears and feels. I felt like I was wearing medieval armour in this bra, and while it did provide better support than other strapless bras I'd tried, I definitely don't think I enjoy the iron fist approach to my undergarments.
Buy or Ditch?
I'd have to go with ditch on this one. I just can't get over how stiff it is!
Final Verdict: C+

Meh I know how you feel. It doesn't help that all those gorgeous party dresses are always inevitably strapless.
I personally vouch for the La Senza convertible strapless bra, it has enough "lift" in it to keep everything in place yet give us small busted girls a bit of a cleavage. It's not bad price wise either, like $38 if I remember correctly?
i love this review. im still on the lookout for a good strapless bra but they all fit or feel so weird :(
@ katyperry the other day, the majority were normally dressed but there were a few (like me and my frds) that went all out & that included someone having a legit cupcake bra...!!
hope you're summer's going well, J :)

oh wonderbra's have never been my fav. i've always gone for vs. i've bought wonderbra's before but they've never held up properly.
i hate any kind of bra (i wear sport bras instead) and the real reason why i even wear anything is because i don't like to be saluting all the time if you know what i mean.
i'll let you in on a little secret: when it comes to going out and wearing sexy tops that require a strapless bra, i use a little trick: band-aids. yep, they go right over the nippular area and it covers great so a strapless bra is not needed! although when i went to vegas, i was in a hurry to pack, grabbed a bunch of band-aids and when it was time to get ready, i realized that i grabbed a bunch of my daughter's band-aids. that are disney branded. like pictures of ariel and cinderella. so i was sporting ariel and snow white on my breasts under my top. is that sexy or what.
thanks for sharing this hon!
i find it really really hard to find good bras that's the right size and affordable at the same time... here in Vancouver =(
Thank you for the review! I am always looking for a good strapless bra - will skip this one :)
i'm always on the look-out for great strapless bras because they're so hard to fit! they're too tight & make me look flat(ter) than i am, or they're too big & i might as well ditch it! i'm glad you reviewed this one so i can steer clear!
xoxo, steph
Um...I probably should have skipped this one. But you were gone for a while and well...since I did read it I figured I might as well leave a comment while I'm here. So, anyway, how about this weather we're having! Just too darn hot. =)
Ugh that's unfortunate! Thanks for the review!

Really tough to shop for good bras! Thanks for the review. I love all the reviews on this blog!
that is not good. I got their multi-way bra and it is working out well for moi. : )
i really wished this bra worked...i was looking for a strapless bra too :(
Ugh! I hate looking for strapless bras - they're so hard to find!
Hope you'll do a positive review on a strapless bra in the future!
I own this bra and love it!!! It's a little armored but that's what I love about it. It holds everything in place and is so comfy! I'm a 34G so finding a strapless bra that does this is so hard. Don't let one bad review stop you from buying this bra ladies! I have recommended it to so many people and they've all thanked me.
